Anonymous asked: What do you do after a break up to make yourself feel better?
look your best bask in attention and watch the other person settle with downgrades
Anti-rape wear. Its almost impervious to knife attacks and tearing/stretching.
The waist and thigh extremities of the garment are cut and tear resistant (the guy in the video can’t cut them with industrial scissors) and they cannot be moved more than a few centimetres when locked into place, the forward area in front of the genitals is also reinforced.
Please, for the love of god, even if you can’t donate, just spread this idea wherever you can, they need $50,000 to be able to manufacture it and they currently have just over $6,000 with 20 days left.
Go to igg.me/at/AR-Wear to donate and/or view their full info.
Reblogging again with added thoughts, partially because people have raised some genuinely relevant questions, but mostly because it absolutely DISGUSTS me to see some of completely asinine bullshit you fucking social justice trend-whoring pieces of know-nothing shit are adding to this video in your continued effort to be contrary to goddamn everything.
- For the people who are concerned about paramedics’ access in the event of a medical emergency, the parts of the garment that aren’t cut-resistant could easily be removed if needed. The waist and thigh guards are resistant to tearing and cutting, but are not indestructible. This is a legitimate concern, but remember that paramedics can cut through a seat belt in a heartbeat.
- For the people concerned about increased victim-blaming, this whole “well this is going to make it worse because now it’s gonna be ‘why weren’t you wearing your anti-rape clothes,’” the same could be said now for any kind of defense aid. This is not any different, and it won’t make victim-blaming any more prevalent. “Why didn’t you take a self-defense class. Why didn’t you carry pepper spray. Why didn’t you have a rape whistle. Why didn’t you have a knife. Why didn’t you have a gun.” Because fuck you, that’s why.
- For the people who are comparing this to the Rape-aXe, I don’t see how shoving barbs into a rapist’s dick is the same thing as preventing access altogether. While you may get away with calling the Rape-aXe “barbaric” or “medieval” (although, seriously? If you rape a woman you deserve to have barbs in and around your stupid penis so shut up), this is literally an article of clothing. It is made of cloth. Please tell me more about how it’s similar to a barbed female condom.
- And for the people who are seriously, genuinely, real-talk raising hell because the model in the video is WHITE, THIN, and FEMALE. This project is being funded through Indiegogo. This is not a project with numerous investors throwing money towards a marketing campaign and a vast array of garment prototypes to be showcased on a variety of different people of all shapes, sizes, and genders. There is ONE model. Just because she does not look like YOU does NOT mean the project is sexist, racist, or for thin people only. Are you serious. I mean. You’ve got to be kidding. The stated goal of the project is to produce protective clothing for men AND women of ALL shapes and sizes, but instead of ASKING any questions about the intended availability of the product, OF COURSE you immediately jumped at the chance to be offended about something else and criticize it because finding fault in good ideas makes you feel like you’re smarter than everyone else when in reality you’re just an absolute fucking dildo.
And I think above all, it’s so fucking disgusting to read your suggestions that this “encourages rape culture”. Because all you kids can think is “PEOPLE SHOULDN’T RAPE”, and therefore any kind of preventative measure “isn’t addressing the real problem” because instead of funding projects like this “how about we should teach people not to rape instead” and then from there you somehow connect the dots to come to the conclusion that any kind of means of protection against sexual assault is actually PART of the problem, instead of a worst-case scenario cautionary device that will HOPEFULLY never actually be needed. No, people shouldn’t rape. Congratulations you fucking genius for adding that gem of innovative commentary to YET ANOTHER tumblr post, but you may be interested to know that it still actually happens, so step out of your ignorant little naive fucking pseudo-intellectual hipster fake ass social warrior shit-for-brains bubble, quit regurgitating everything you read on tumblr and check back into reality. You’re opposed to supporting a project that is meant to help address a very real, very serious problem, and your argument is “the problem shouldn’t exist”. WOW okay praise jesus of course why didn’t anyone else think of that thank you for your brilliant input because it’s definitely NOT completely worthless.
I mean. Really. “Encourages rape culture.” Swear to god.
You motherfucking kids.
I’m not sure how I missed this. This product is very important.
